Official Text-to-video 20 steps
Official T2V template (text-to-video, 20-step baseline)
ComfyUI's built-in H3 text-to-video template: drop in your prompt and run. The 20-step baseline is the most stable quality-wise — best for first runs and quality-critical shots.
How to run it
- 1 Update ComfyUI to ≥0.33 and search "MiniMax H3" in the template library
- 2 Pick the Text to Video template; place models per our model library into diffusion_models / text_encoders / vae
- 3 Write your prompt (see our prompt guide: visual timeline + soundscape + music)
- 4 Queue it; when you want speed, stack a step-distilled LoRA on the official template (see the 8-step Turbo recipe)
20 steps at full resolution is the slow route — see the hardware scale below; test with 864×480 first.

FAQ
What's the minimum GPU for this recipe?
About 6GB+ of VRAM for 1344×768 · 5s (46 of 49 listed GPUs workable). Short 736×416 clips run on less.
How does this recipe combine with other acceleration?
Step distillation picks one option; attention backends (Sage/Kitchen/SLA/VSA) and caches stack on top. See the conflicts table for exact rules.
